· 9 instruments
Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Lo Tom, Hi Tom, Hi Hat, Clap, Rim, Crash and Ride. All the instruments are playable and have individual polyphonic outputs. Did HH section onwards it's like our earlier products AirBase99/JaZBase03 short 8-bit samples played back with an analog envelope. The sample flash ROM is bigger than ever: per instrument there are 31 (!) Samples, a total of 155th
· Real analog sound production
... on BD, SD, LT and HT with digital control, i.e. storeability MIDI-controllable control of all parameters. To the analog circuitry as small as possible to influence, all D / A converters are specially adapted to the parameters established and integrated into the circuitry has been - with proven XBase / AirBase technology.
· 16 knobs
To edit the sounds, there is one for every analog parameter endless rotary encoder, adjusts the sounds without any jumps or awkward turning jobs. Close to each knob is a 3-color LED that indicates to edit the parameters for the selected instrument are.
· Improved Kick Drum
The most famous sound of the XBase is probably their kick. We have even put a parameter and the most wicked bass drum in the world missed a compression value that can be set between 909-style ultra compressed envelope or an 808-ish exponential curve.
· Analog Tom Toms
For the beat freak there is also some extremely good sounding and widely editable analog tom toms - as in the AirBase99/JaZBase03.
· Internal step sequencer
As usual, the XBASE 999 has the genious step sequencer build has been installed. There are some improvements: all patterns are A / B patterns, and it either two alternating 16 or 32 step pattern. The sequencer has three-color LEDs, which are known from the XBase09 individual step edit modes can be presented better and more intuitive.
The micro shuffle can now be edited for each instrument individually.
The Bank select has now an own switch. 4 banks with each 16 A / B patterns are available, results in 128 actual 16 step patterns.
· Analog step sequencer with X-filter
XBASE as a bonus, the 999 still a 16-step analog sequencer for the included external filter. Each of the 16 rotary knobs has a click, with analog step can be activated and which controls the X-filter cutoff.
The filter is a 2-pole multimode filter with resonance and quality factor (Q control), which sounds great for external signals and can also serve as a signal source in resonant modes. If the response is low, can be set with the smaller Q control, without the filter never starts to oscillate. If then a little resonance is given to it starts to whistle while but still the bandwidth within certain limits can be set.
Each of the two filters can be set individually as lowpass, highpass, bandpass and notch. In addition, the two filters as a stereo, parallel or in series or with cross feedback.
Each instrument is individually into the filter or being spared out. The stereo filter signal is mixed into the stereo bus with a VCA or can be brought out separately as a pure signal on the filter ring of the stereo output jacks.
The LFOs can also control the filter, so that a full FX section is available.
All this runs along with the beat sequencer ...
· Analog Input
A stereo signal can be inserted and sliced by a VCA with an own envelope over the step sequencer. Or an external effects are already in the sum. Or just being filtered by the X-filter over the analog.
· Stereo mix with pan control
All instruments except the bass drum can be distributed in the stereo image, and be saved. If a plug is inserted into a single output, this signal is removed from the sum.
· External midi tracks
As with the XBase classic there are 4 midi to control external devices in known manner. The instrument keys program the 11 semitones.
• 2 LFOs
Of course, the XBASE 999 again two phat LFOs that can be beat syncronized or run freely and everything can be routed.
· Hi Hat Filter
The Hi Hat section contains a great sounding analog band pass filter with a high-and low-pass filter and resonance controls independend. Other than the 8-bit HH samples, analog noise can be the sound source.
· 24 Character LCD Display
For a more convenient and clear operation, the 999 XBASE now a big alphanumerical LCD display. Kits can be named and the analog step sequencer has a bar display.
· Flash sound ROM
The sound flash memory in the percussion section (HH, Clap, Rim, Crash, Ride) which contains 31 samples per instrument are present, the user via midi sample dump are described, so that to create own samples.
