The PL-2 is a eigenstehende two-channel version of the popular ore from the Quartet II Tube Recording Channel. It uses a novel approach to brickwall limiting in the analog domain, which is fast enough to avoid digital clipping, without recourse to delays or phase shifts. This allows a very short signal path and the limiter is below the preset threshold taken from the signal path. This is the distortion of entertaining Limiterpunktes extremely low and declining to about not reaching the ... Thresholds. Unlike analog peak Clipper, which cut the upper and lower shaft easily, retains this information in the dynamic limiter even at the peak.
The PL-2 has two modes to limit the peak, either a related field-effect transistor (JFET) or a metaloxid semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) controls. While both are equally good at intercept points, each have its own character type. The JFET tends to be rather stiff and hard to, while the MOSFET has a softer sound and gutmutigeren. The resulting wave forms from very different and have their own characteristic sound.
Additionally you can with the input and output controls the Gainstruktur adapt to the situation, as dBu A / D converter with +22 or an insert to a +4 dBu patch bay. Multiple devices can be linked for multichannel applications.
Each channel has an enhanced LED display with 13 segments, which indicates precisely the reduction of the peaks.
